Description
There were allotment gardens off the south-west corner of Hebburn Cemetery (HER 5234) in the late 1890s. They expanded around the north side and on the west side of Victoria Road West in the early 20th century. They expanded further in the early 1940s east of the cemetery, but those west of the cemetery were converted into a sports ground, tennis ground and bowling green. All of the other allotments were built over in the 1950s.
