Description
In January 1815 a fierce storm accompanied by snow struck the BRIG Success who was carrying timber from Arundel. Her masts were broken and she was driven onto the Herd Sand. The crew, except the helmsman, were swept into the sea. 6 men were saved by THE ORIGINAL lifeboat. The master, mate and a boy were drowned. Master: Cooper
