Description

These quarries at Marsden are associated with Marsden Lime Kilns (HER ref. 1002). They are not shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey plan, so presumably date from after 1855. The 1942 edition of the Ordnance Survey map shows expansion to the north, into the area of the adjacent ‘Old Quarry’ (HER ref. 2487).
