Toward Road, balustrade on steps

This wrought-iron Balustrade on steps from Salisbury Street to Toward Road dates to the mid 19th century. Plain stick balustrades and slender-tapered newels, with bases clasped by acanthus foliage and simplified foliage to the capitals, support plain band handrails on the north side of the lower flight and on both sides of the upper 2 flights of steps.
