Dean Street, wine flask
16th century light grey stoneware wine flask with globular body. Identified as type II in J.G. Hursts typology. These flasks are thought to have been made in Martincamp in northern France. Found in June 1979 in Dean Street, by the Cathedral steps, in a sewer trench.
Donated to the Society of Antiquaries by A. Nichols of Monkseaton.
