Description
Chest tomb, circa 1714. Members of the Anderson family died 1688-1834. Sandstone ashlar. Four corner and two side rusticated pilasters; side and end panels have incised squares and low relief interlace, ribbon-tied bones and winged skull. Moulded edged table top. Inscriptions include commemorations of Gerrard died 1714; Thomas buried at All Saints, Newcastle, died 1783; and Matthew, resident in Russia and buried in Smolensky cemetery, St. Petersburg, died 1814. Corners of slab chipped at time of survey. LISTED GRADE 2
