Description
A circular pinfold is shown on the tithe map of 1849. This would have once been on the village green, which was later occupied by Front Street (now High Street). Pinfolds or pounds were enclosures where stray animals could be temporarily penned. There are surviving examples at Ryton and Elsdon.
