Description
Thompson Memorial Hall (United Methodist Free Church).
Built 1906 in use until 1980. Designed by G F Brown.‘Red brick with stone dressings in Edwardian neo-Classical, with iron-braced roof. Interior theatre-like, with tip-up seats, enormous rostrum and ornate gallery front, approximating to Methodist Central Hall plan. Shipbuilders T R Bulmer and J L Thompson were benefactors. (C&M 1984). Recently completely rebuilt. Now Ture Jesus Church.
