Description
Designed by Hetherington & Wilson. Opened in 1938. Single storey brick entrance block in front of a top-lit pool shed containing a pool measuring 75 feet x 35 feet. The pool catered for mixed swimming sessions. Changing rooms were set apart from the pool. There were a limited number of slipper (individual) baths. Fenham Baths closed on 28 June 2003. Pool users formed the Fenham Swimming Project as a charitable company. The baths re-opened in July 2005. The Big Lottery Fund gave the project an £80,000 grant in 2007 for improvements. More improvements were made in 2009-10.
