          Description
Opened in 1954 By James Deuchar to serve Cochrane Park estate. He closed the Criterion and the Cricketer's Arms in Newcastle to open this pub. The name comes from two coastal steamers, Lochside (launched 1905) and Lochside II (launched in 1925), which brought beer from Deuchar's brewery in Montrose to Tyneside. 1500 barrels of beer were carried on the 16-hour voyage. Locals said 'all the sloshing about improved the beer'.
