Description
High section of brick walling against bank just below entrance to Betsey Pit. Constructed of yellow firebrick the wall includes a number of drainage holes and a rectangular opening near the base which maybe for the chute associated with the pit entrance. Wall appears to be a retaining wall against the steep bank. Does not appear on any of the historic OS maps. Date is uncertain but structure contains "Cowen M" bricks indicating that it was constructed after 1926.
