Description
In the Burn north of the Milner Pit pieces of forge waste ' hearth bottoms ' which protrude from the bank and appear to have been used either as a revetment or to form a level surface (Plate 84). Other pieces were identified in the bed of Burn, with what might be bloomery slag [David Cranstone pers com].
